Add user to Emby session
This feature allows you to add additional users to your viewing session. This means any users added will share the playstate of any item being watched. This can be useful when there's more than one Emby user from the same server watching the same content on the same device. If you pause the item, the resume point will be created for every users and so on.
Access the option:
There are many ways to access this feature. You are free to pick whatever option is most convenient to you.
- Launch the Emby for Kodi add-on and select Add user to session.
- You can map it your home menu/submenu. In your skin settings, you can point the path to Video Add-ons > Emby > Add user to session or point to this custom action:
RunPlugin(plugin://plugin.video.emby?mode=adduser) - You can even add the custom action to your keymap so you can use it with your remote control.
How it works:
If you have no additional users at first, it will display a dialog with the list of users available to be added. If you do have additional users when using the option, it will give you the option to add more users or remove existing users from the session. You will also see this information reflected in your Emby server dashboard, under active devices.
If you want your Kodi session to always start with the same additional Emby users, you can specify their username in the Emby add-on settings > Extras > Permanent users to add to the session.
