Tomcat Setup

  • Download the tomcat setup zip file from Software Sources and save it to your computer
  • Extract the zip file.
  • Start the installation using the apache-tomcat-8.0.8.exe file. Click on the highlighted file to begin installation.

  • Follow installation instructions.
  • Read carefully and accept the terms and conditions.

  • Tomcat Components: Make the selections as shown below

  • Configuration Options: You may use "admin" for the user name as well as the password

  • Select your preferred destination for Tomcat Java Virtual Machine

  • Select your preferred destination for Tomcat

  • Wait until the installation is completed...

  • Check off "Run Apache Tomcat" and click on finish.

  • Open your preferred web browser (Firefox/Chrome/IE) and go to http://localhost:8080. You should be able to see the tomcat homepage

  • Open "My Computer" and go the webapps folder of tomcat as shown below. You should see the following folders in it
