Future Features
When wsif got a tweet from David Pogue that was a big deal. It would be good to get notified as soon as that happens, so one can retweet, respond, etc.
Maybe there is a option to say, “notify me anytime someone at this level or above tweets about us”? That would be pretty easy to do.
More complex implementations could try to determine if there is an active conversation about your service going on, or perhaps things that are particularly positive or negative.
Say wsif was trying to promote a new feature, like the “similar” stuff. As @wsif we might create a link to a new blog post about it, or to the feature itself, and then want to track how much it was clicked on.
The difficulty with Twitter clients is often times you don’t have a referrer because many are desktop/mobile clients. So you can track overall traffic to a page, but difficult to know the source.
Clarity could allow users to monitor a URL to see who else tweets that same url. It could also use bit.ly’s API to correlate click data with the campaign.
I would like to see a unified view of clarity twitter data and google analytics traffic data. How much traffic did that david pogue tweet + 10 retweets actually drive to the site that day?
This is hard to do but the possibility exists to integrate with google analytics via setting up a traffic report to be sent to a clarity email address daily. Not sure if anyone would actually be comfortable doing this.
Another possibility is to find an analytics company that wants to get access to our data for their customers and charge them $$$.
