The Plan

The following gives a view of our understanding of the Gordon's Co-Curricular Transcript Portal. It is intended to provide us with high level guidance so we don't get lost when focusing on the implementation details.

As a minimum requirement, our project should have there views; a Student view, an Activity Leader view and a Supervisor view. Each view has all the characteristics listed under it, plus the characteristics of the previous view.

Student View: What a normal student can see/do.

  • Access to a web portal
  • Ability to authenticate themselves as as student.
  • Ability to view all activities being offered for a particular academic session.
    • Can view activity information.
    • Can view who the leader of the activity is + contact info.
    • Can view who the supervisor of the activity is + contact info.
    • Activity roster: What other students are part of this? (Members can choose to opt out of being displayed in the roster)
  • Allows the student to "affiliate" themselves with an activity.
    • Indicate their interest by joining as a Guest/Follower.
    • Indicate their interest to join the activity by submitting a request to join as an official Member.
  • Ability to access their "profile". This includes:
    • Activities they are affiliated with.
    • Option to print out their involvement in a report format.
    • Option to be included in Activity Rosters made available to the public.
    • Option to leave an activity that required no approval to join.

Activity Leader View: What the activity leader can see/do.

  • Can see all members of the activity.
  • Can change activity information.
  • Can accept new people as members.
  • Can kick people out of an activity.

Supervisor View: What a faculty/staff supervisor can see/do.

  • Accept/Deny student requests to become leaders of an activity.
  • Assign students as leaders of an activity.
