This example file explains you how to use Morpho for modeling.
It is a small residential urban area with few buildings, private and public green areas and a small park in the center.
How the central public area can affect the thermal comfort of the private open spaces close to the small residential buildings.
- Envimet uses a numerical model, the big part of the job is the calibration of the model
- Classify the materials that are in the study area checking well its main thermal and daylight characteristics
- Simplify the geometries. Envimet uses the discretization by voxels, so it does not make sense to be accurate at centimeter
- Orient the geometries to a prevalent direction to avoid exceed deformation and use the "rotation" input later to fix the North
- Set well the domain of the model. Distance from the border must be 3/4 of the height of the closest building at least. Distance from the top must be at least twice the height of the highest building at least.
- Spend time to test a small part of the model first before running a big model
