Hi John Burwell,

Thanks for the patience.

You can definitely download the software without accepting the EULA.

Please let me know if you have any other query.

Thanks!

Hi John Burwell,

Thanks for getting in touch with us!

If you want UniFi controller running on pfSense you can have a look at the below link:

http://community.ubnt.com/t5/UniFi/Tutorial-Experiment-UniFi-running-on-pfSense/td-p/186361

As far as the EULA is considered I'll have to discuss this with my team and I'll get back
to with an update as soon as possible.

Thanks for you patience

Thanks!

Subject: About the UniFi controller EULA

To: info@(redacted)

I am writing to ask about the EULA as it relates to the UniFi
controller
software. The terms are rather specific in their reference to
Firmware and
Devices, in a way that seems awkward when it comes to an
application that
ultimately runs on non-Ubiquiti hardware.

It comes up because I'd like to prepare packages for installing the
UniFi
controller on pfSense and other FreeBSD-based systems. The idea is
to have
the package fetch the UniFi controller software for Unix from
Ubiquiti's
servers. But because the EULA appears prior to the download
and the EULA
refers to software other than the controller application,
it's unclear how
best to do that and what Ubiquiti would consider
permissible.

As it's something I'd hope to share publicly and presume others would
want
to use, something at least loosely formal would seem appropriate,
perhaps
in the form of a simple LICENSE.TXT file included with the .zip
archive.

While I'm asking, it would be helpful if Ubiquiti could somehow provide
a
structured repository for downloading the software programmatically,
even
if there's just a symbolic link somewhere called 'latest', or maybe
a
script that redirects the request to the appropriate version.

In any case, can Ubiquiti specify what's permissible for the purposes
of
building UniFi controller packages on unsupported systems? Any chance
of
helping out package developers with some kind of standard download
link?

Thanks for taking a look.
