This notebook analyzes Nobel Prize data from 1901 to 2016, exploring factors such as gender, nationality, age, and repeat laureates. It examines trends and patterns, revealing insights about the Nobel Prize's evolution over time, including the dominance of the United States and the representation of women in different prize categories.
This project analyses a Nobel Prize dataset using Python and data analysis libraries. It explores the distribution of winners by category and country, examines the proportion of female winners over time, investigates the age of winners when they received the prize and identifies the oldest and youngest recipients.
Using publication records collected by Li et al (2018) for Nobel laureates in physics, chemistry, and physiology/medicine from 1900-2016, plus data from scite (scite.ai) on >3 million citation statements to these publications, I attempt to analyze how work of Nobel Prize winners is cited before vs after receiving the Nobel Prize
