Become a sponsor to Gábor Szabó
I love Open Source and Free Software and I like helping and teaching others. This includes running free workshops.
I'd love to get your financial support to be able to do more of this. As a first step I'd like to reach the point where at least the sponsors help me cover the direct expenses.
The first goal
Right now I spend roughly $150 / month on hosting the Rust Digger and the PyDigger projects. Most of that is for storage.
This will soon increase, but if I could get 15 people to give $10 each that would at least offset the costs.
The Open Source projects I am involved in these days grouped by programming language:
Rust
- Rust Digger to analyze the Rust crates, to understand the common practices and to help improve the Rust ecosystem. Using this I also send small Pull-Requests to lots of Crates.
- Rust Maven - articles and examples about the Rust programming language.
- Rust Maven SSG It is a Static Site Generator that is being developed primarily for the Rust Digger web site.
- Rustatic a small web server for serving static files that can help while developing static web site manually or with an SSG.
- Banbu, the Banner Builder Using YAML to define the content of an image.
- SEO Site Checker - Analyze a web site to provide metrics about the SEO-readiness of the site.
Python
- PyDigger analyzing Python projects, collecting common practices.
- The Code Maven contains lots of articles about many subjects, including Python. They will be moved to Python Maven
- Python Programming Bootcamp for Scientists video series teaching Python.
- 30-hour Python Course that starts by learning Git and using GitHub. (in progress.)
Perl
- CPAN::Digger analyzing the common practices of CPAN authors.
- Perl Maven blog posts, examples, videos.
- Perl Weekly newsletter. The weekly newsletter that I've been publishing since 2011.
Ruby
- Ruby Digger analyzing Ruby Gems looking for common practices.
Ladino
OK, so this is a human language
- Kantoniko is a web site to help the Ladino (Djudeo Espanyol) community to maintain their (human) language.
Your financial support will encourage and enable me to allocate more time to work on these and other Open Source projects.
The server cost for the Rust Digger and PyDigger projects is roughly $150 / month more than half of it being the storage cost. This will increase as the projects analyzes more data. It would be nice if the sponsors could covert at least the direct expenses associated with the projects. $10 / month would be a nice help.
