Hello there! I'm Christoph and I've been shipping open source and making video games and social networks since 2002. I created foundational JavaScript infrastructure used by millions of people:
- Built Jest, Metro, Yarn, and MooTools.
- Popularized the concept of large scale code modifications with
jscodeshift
. - Spent the 2010s at Facebook in Menlo Park and London managing JavaScript Infrastructure and the React Native team.
- I'm obsessed with developer tooling and performance.
- Currently building Athena Crisis.
- From Austria, living in Japan. Previously lived in the US and UK.
Open Source has shaped my journey as an engineer for the past 20 years. I published my first open source project in 2006 and I joined GitHub in June 2008. I aim to build my company Nakazawa Tech in the open, see Building a Company.
My current goal is to be able to spend 25-50% of my time on open source and improve the frontend and JavaScript ecosystem. Your support allows me to to spend even more time on open source. You'll get early access to the technology and products I'm building.

With your support I'll be able to sustainably publish more open source projects more frequently, and you are playing an active role in kicking off a new indie game studio in Tokyo. I will be forever grateful and show my appreciation to the community 🙇♂️
