What you need to do to get involved in the SDC website project is:
- Join the Discord channel and introduce yourself
- Click the Fork button for this github project
- Got to your own Fork of the project, usually looks something like this:
http://github.com/[username]/groupsiteand then in your command linegit clone [forked url] SDC-website - Once it has cloned (aka downloaded) to your computer then run
npm install - Ready to run the program?
npm start - Eventually the program will launch your browser as
localhost:3000and you should see a similar copy to our main website link
- Node 10+ (Recomemended v14.x.x)
- A group of people who were/are junior, intermediate and senior developers that just want to meet more of their peers, learn more and share their passion for software development.
- The SDC is for all levels of developers!
- Juniors come to add projects to their portfolio and grow their social network.
- Intermediates come to improve their code, developer their communication and leadership skills and of course grow their social network
- Seniors come because they enjoy coding, enjoy teaching, enjoy mentoring and most of all they like to give back what they received when they were Junior and Intermediate developers.
- No one person fits into the above tightly defined boxes, but this is a summary of the feedback we get from our members.
- Have fun coding, having fun meeting new friends and something new.
