Service Assurance Framework 1.2.0
We're proud to release the latest version of the Service Assurance Framework version 1.2.0.
Service Assurance Framework v1.2.0 includes support for multi-cloud observations and an initial implementation of events collection and storage in ElasticSearch. Deployment of ElasticSearch is done with the ElasticSearch Operator.
Many of the changes in this release are in support of multi-cloud observation and initial events support, but a great amount of work was done building a testing framework for performance and scale testing. Artifacts in support of that are included in this release.

Service Assurance Framework 1.1.0
We're pleased to announce the release of Service Assurance Framework 1.1.0.
SAF 1.1.0 has an improved installation process that is more likely to succeed in multiple OCP 3.11 environments. It also adds an Ansible playbook to provide the build out of the OpenShift manifests from templates, thereby allowing for a better installation experience and more dynamic configurations.
During the development of SAF 1.1.0 we implemented additional test logic to allow for validation of our installation scenarios. The Smart Gateway Operator was updated to provide a more consistent labeling experience when deploying SAF as well. Updated versions of the various components are also installed by this release.
Included in this release:
- updated to the latest v3.11 components as shipped with OpenShift
- functional testing in an internal lab environment to validate installation in common OpenShift installations
- Smart Gateway Operator 1.0.4-3 released for improved component labeling
- overall better installation experience
Service Assurance Framework 1.0.1
Provides the latest set of bug fixes and smoke tests that work for both the upstream and downstream components. Changes after this release will refactor several components and will require a newer release of the Smart Gateway Operator.
Service Assurance Framework 1.0
Initial technical preview release of Service Assurance Framework (SAF).
The contents of this release includes an example reference architecture that utilizes
RHHI-V as the virtualization platform. Deployment of SAF in this release is done with
a bash script called deploy.sh.
This first release of SAF 1.0 has the following features:
- Deployment of server-side Service Assurance Framework as a micro-service application on OpenShift 3.11 leveraging the Operator Framework
- Full client-side installation capability via OSP 13 Director with collectd as the infrastructure data collector and AMQ Interconnect as the messaging layer application
- Server-side metrics integration with Prometheus as the Time-Series Database
- Alert Manager Integration with a pre-canned list of Alerts out of the box
- Separately namespaced to avoid conflicts with existing OpenShift monitoring infrastructure
We welcome you to try this release and please provide us feedback.
telemetry-framework-0.9-pre
Create a tag prior to repo reorganization
Create 0.9-pre which is a tag containing the APB methods of installing
Telemetry Framework (Service Assurance Framework). The APB method is
being deprecated and EOL'd going forward in favour of an Operator
based approach.
Installation via APBs should no longer be done. Going forward, please
leverage the Operator methods which we'll continue to be focusing on.
After this tag, the APB methods will be deleted from master.
