I was hoping to get more done for this release, but I refuse to let perfect be the enemy of the good.
Improvements include:
- Prettier, more compact and more readable presentation of parsed SysEx messages, with colour-coded “bubbles” and proportional fonts.
- Support for inspecting and creating Roland GS drum setup SysEx messages. This was the biggest missing feature for SC-55-level GS support.
- The standard MIDI (”Universal”) Master Volume and Master Balance SysEx messages are now recognised. The former in particular is common in General MIDI works.
- The MT-32 model ID and the Yamaha manufacturer ID are now recognised. The main content of a SysEx message for these still isn't understood by SoundPalette, but this will at least make it clearer what it is that's not recognised in many MIDI files.
- Time display now has beats or frames, not just ticks. However, there is no measure/bar info.
- The “Generate SysEx” dropdowns now try to remember your position so that, if you change your selection in one of the earlier dropdowns, the later ones repeat the same selections as before, where possible.
As always, you don't need to download it, you can just browse to https://hikari.noyu.me/etc/SoundPalette/.
