This release is a patch-release which fixes several issues.

Bugfixes for 5.5.1

  • Fix an issue with kubectl not working on host when using custom state directory.
  • Fix an issue with gravity status always displaying degraded status on regular nodes.
  • Fix an issue with shrink operation sometimes spawning on the leaving node.
  • Fix an issue with gravity report sometimes producing unreadable tarball.

5.5.x Features

Gravity 5.5.x adds support for Helm charts. This allows developers to use Helm to package entire Kubernetes clusters pre-loaded with applications into downloadable image files. Previous versions of Gravity required users to specify all Kubernetes resources for building a cluster image.

Another major feature of this release is the support for multiple Kubernetes applications packaged into a single cluster image.

Finally, 5.5 LTS features the latest version of Teleport 3.x for remote management of Kubernetes clusters created from cluster images via both kubectl and SSH.
