This release uses log4j 2.14.0 which is affected by CVE-2021-442228. Please download and use release 53.0.2 or later instead.

With additional information uncovered regarding CVE-2021-44228, we determined that this release uses log4j 2.14.0, which is affected by this issue. A new release of the tool released on December 14, 2021 has been posted to GitHub and can be found here.

This version is for use with Salesforce Spring '21 or higher release through Salesforce Force Partner API and Force WSC v51.0.0.

Data Loader on Mac M1:
The M1 is the new Apple-designed System on a Chip (SoC) that's been developed for use in Macs. While Salesforce updates Data Loader periodically to support the latest OS releases, the time frame for doing so depends on support by underlying third-party libraries. In the case where you are running Mac OS on Mac M1 hardware, errors on your console indicate that the Eclipse SWT library, required by Data Loader, is not supported on Mac M1. While explicit support for the Eclipse SWT library (or lack thereof) on Mac M1 is still unknown, you may want to try running Data Loader in Intel emulation mode using Rosetta 2 to see if emulation mode enables Eclipse SWT to work correctly.   • At least 256 MB of available memory (RAM)
  • Zulu OpenJDK version 11 or later

Salesforce API version requirements

  • 51.0 or later. You can check your org's API version by following the instructions.

Other changes

  • Upgraded versions of log4j (2.14) and Spring framework (5.2.7).
  • Support for Java system variables for mutual auth through client-side certs.
