This cookbook installs and configures rotate-to-s3
cron
- rotate-to-s3 needs cron to schedule regular uploads
- a custom repository where rotate-to-s3 package MUST be present
NOTE: no default attributes are provided. You MUST specify them explicitly.
node['rotate-to-s3']['destination']
- S3 Bucket where log files will be uploaded tonode['rotate-to-s3']['access']
- AWS Access Keynode['rotate-to-s3']['secret']
- AWS Secret Keynode['rotate-to-s3']['pidfile']
- webserver PID filenode['rotate-to-s3']['source']
- directory/files to be rotated
Include rotate-to-s3
in your node's run_list
as well as info the default_attributes

- Fork the repository on Github
- Create a named feature branch (like
add_component_x
) - Write you change
- Write tests for your change (if applicable)
- Run the tests, ensuring they all pass
