07 Code of conduct
Our community values trust, respect, collaboration, and transparency, and we are committed to creating a positive, inclusive environment. We welcome participants from diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. This Code of Conduct outlines expectations for community interactions to help ensure a constructive, respectful environment.
The CDPG open-source community values being open, kind, inquisitive, and respectful.
- Openness: We encourage collaboration and open-mindedness in all community interactions.
- Prioritizing Community Welfare: We respect and follow established community processes, recognizing that these guidelines are set for the benefit of the whole.
- Appreciating Efforts: We acknowledge and value the contributions made by community members, especially volunteers, understanding that much of the work is done for the good of the community.
- Respecting Diverse Perspectives: Constructive feedback is welcomed, as the range of skills and experiences among members strengthens our community.
- Showing Empathy: We strive to communicate thoughtfully and tactfully, whether in person or online, respecting differing viewpoints.
- Consideration for Peers: We are considerate of each other’s ideas, contributions, and limitations.
- Respectful Interaction: We honor the skills, time, and efforts of others, maintaining a courteous and respectful attitude.
- Constructive Criticism: Disagreements are natural, but we handle them with courtesy and an open mind.
- Inclusive Language: We strive to create a welcoming environment by using inclusive language and fostering a space where all feel welcome.
This Code of Conduct provides guidelines for positive interactions and reinforces our values for a supportive, collaborative environment.
- Be welcoming and use inclusive language.
- Respect different perspectives and experiences.
- Be open to constructive feedback.
- Show empathy toward fellow community members.
- Respect others' roles, skills, commitments, and contributions.
- Trolling, insults, derogatory remarks, or personal/political attacks.
- Use of sexualized language or imagery; unwelcome sexual attention or advances.
- Language or imagery promoting violence or harm toward individuals or groups.
- Harassment in public or private spaces.
- Personal insults, especially those based on race, ability, age, sexual orientation, or gender.
- Defamation of individuals or groups, or infringement on copyrighted material.
- Sharing private information without explicit permission.
- Dismissing or attacking requests related to inclusion.
- Repeatedly disrupting talks, workshops, or other events.
- Making offensive comments related to race, gender, identity, sexual orientation, disability, appearance, age, religion, or caste.
- Intimidation or threats of violence.
- Encouraging any inappropriate behaviors listed above.
