Totara OJT activity

This is an activity module plug-in for the Totara Learning Management System (https://www.totaralms.com/solutions/totara-lms).

The OJT Plugin adds functionality for defining, tracking and signing-off learning activities that take place on the job (OJT). It includes a user and manager interface and reporting functionality.

The OJT activity allows a content creator to set up tasks and items a learner is required to demonstrate or complete.

Configuration Options

The OJT activity module is flexible and supports different workflows.

Currently Topics configuration allows topics to:

  • be optional
  • be linked to course competencies
  • allow comments
  • allow Manager signoff (The learners manager receives a Task notification when the topic is complete and ready for signoff)
In addition each item under a topic allows configuration to:
  • be optional
  • allow file uploads by evaluator
  • allow file uploads by the learner
  • allows notes to be recorded
  • allow witnessing (a user with the correct permissions can witness that the learner demonstrated behaviour or completed the outlined task)

Completion Options

As with all Totara LMS activities you can enable activity completion, the completion setting is automatically complete when all required topics are complete and, if enabled, witnessed.

  • Witness topic completion

Roles

The OJT activity module supports the following roles:

  • Learner
  • Editing Trainer
  • Evalutor or Assessor
  • Manager

Reporting

The OJT activity module includes a Report Builder source that allows OTJ completions to be reported on at a site level.
