Lyquidity Solutions Limited was started in 2001 by people with long experience creating Business Intelligence and financial management reporting applications for global corporations. Initially with Comshare, Inc. (now Infor) the Lyquidity founders had senior positions in Product Management and Marketing based in the US.

Lyquidity Solutions has created solutions for reporting governance and compliance used by the London Stock Exchange, the US DoD, the Belgian Department of Fisheries (Landbouw en Visserij) and others.

Lyquidity liaised with Rivet Software, Inc. (owned by Certent, Inc.) from its inception as it worked with the US SEC to create XBRL reporting solutions. The resulting tools are now used by thousands of US corporations to submit 10Q, 10K and other regulatory reports to the SEC.

XBRL is now used extensively by the US SEC, UK HMRC, the Netherland government, the Financial Services Agency of the Japanese Government, the European Banking Authority and many others for collecting regulatory information.

So far the use of XBRL is largely confined to one way regulatory reporting. We envisage the core benefits of XBRL being used more widely to help organisations share the information needed to plan and budget without huge costs.
