Go Logging Benchmarks

This repo compares the performance of popular Go Logging Libraries including the new Slog package.

See the results.

The following libraries are being tested:

• Zerolog
• Zap
• Apex/log
• Logrus
• Slog
• SlogZap (Slog with Zap backend)
• Phuslog
• Log15
• Logf

🟢 Prerequisites

You only need a recent version of Go to execute the benchmarks.

📦 Getting started

• Clone the repository to your computer:

git clone https://github.com/betterstack-community/go-logging-benchmarks

cd go-logging-benchmarks

• Download the dependencies:

go mod tidy

• Execute the benchmarks:

go test -bench=. -benchmem
