Support vertical panels

• styling changed for panels to blend with the GTK theme
• support vertical panels - app indicators display vertically, labels rotate 90deg or 270 deg depending if on the left or right panels
• SVG based icons are fixed to 22px to ensure overly large icons scale correctly in the panel
