Question and Answer Sessions
We have regular question and answer sessions with Chris Fritz, who is a Vue core team member. If you want to participate in such a session please contact Christian Kienle.
Since we have the sessions not on a daily basis it is best to pick topics that are not of immediate concern.
We are writing (unit) tests in more or less two different ways. For example, some of us prefer mount
over shallowMount
. Some use snap shot testing. Others don't. Personally, I do not see a problem with having this mixed approach but could you please tell us what you are using when and why?
In our last call with Chris I asked him if it is okay to mutate VNode
s. We do that in some places (FdTable
, …). Chris said that it is more or less undefined. I had a look at our implementation and I am unsure how I can get rid of the mutations and keep the elegant interface.
We have nearly finished our refactoring of our input elements. Could we please look over the new code together?
This can also give us an idea on best practices at a practical level.
Approximately a week before the next session you will receive two invites via email:
- an invite for the actual Q/A session and
- an invite for the preparation of the Q/A session
A few days before the Q/A session we meet in order to openly discuss our questions. This is done to ensure we are all on the same page and in case of a huge number of questions we may collaboratively prioritize the questions.
The actual Q/A session is done by using zoom.us. The invites that are being sent out contain a link that allows you to join the corresponding meetings.
