Native Mode: Manual Setup

Reminder: Native Mode only works on Pixels with the official Quick Tap. It allows you to benefit from low battery consumption, without needing to root your device (on Android 13) or use Shizuku (on Android 12), but using Native Mode will prevent Tap, Tap from working when the display is off, and may make triple tap less responsive.

Manually setting up Native Mode requires a computer with ADB. If you do not have ADB installed, follow the steps here.

Once you have ADB installed, run the following command in a terminal/command prompt on the computer:

adb shell pm grant com.kieronquinn.app.taptap android.permission.READ_LOGS

Tap, Tap will close. Reopen it and you will be able to continue setting up Native Mode.
