Good news and bad news. Version 2.0.0 is here and it works and is protected. But you have to solder a serial port again.

Yes, it really really doesn't work any more for versions < 1.9.1.
You can follow this issue [#23](https://github.com/HomeACcessoryKid/life-cycle-manager/issues/23) in the community

So, I accept our loss and that it was my lack of knowing that a HTTP header has to be case insensitive that caused all this.

You will have to access the device again via the serial port and flash a new otaboot.bin file
- download the latest [otaboot.bin](https://github.com/HomeACcessoryKid/life-cycle-manager/releases/latest/download/otaboot.bin)
- `esptool.py -p /dev/cu.usbserial-* write_flash 0x2000 ~/Downloads/otaboot.bin`

It will take up to 8 minutes to update, so be patient.

The emergency mode (see 'how it works') is completly independent of external factors.
If this ever happens again, we have a plan B in place.

If you feel that you want to [switch over to HAA-OTA](https://github.com/RavenSystem/esp-homekit-devices/wiki/Installation)
then this is the moment to verify if it provides the features you are looking for. We forked apart some time ago.
