Auto Refresh

DIM refreshes your Destiny profile automatically on the following triggers:

• You switch tabs to DIM, or un-minimize it, or relaunch it on your phone.
• You reconnect to the internet after having been disconnected.
• Automatically, every 30 seconds Bungie has asked us to disable periodic auto refresh to save load on their servers.

You can of course always hit the refresh button or use the R hotkey to manually refresh. Note that refreshing the whole page does the same thing but is much slower - if you just want to update to reflect changes in the game, don't reload all of DIM.

To save load on Bungie.net, DIM will not allow you to refresh the app more often than once every 15 seconds. Also, there is an issue with the Bungie.net API that DIM uses - sometimes, when you refresh, you may get old data that doesn't reflect the current state of the game. This often shows up as items moving back to their original positions after being moved in DIM, because DIM had shown the result of your move, then the data from the API comes back with a state of the game from before your move. Unfortunately there's not much DIM can do to detect or avoid this issue.
