The internet is a crucial medium through which people can express themselves and share ideas and has become an increasingly important tool through which democracy and human rights activists mobilize and advocate for political, social, and economic reform. Fearing the power of the new technologies, authoritarian states have devised subtle and not-so-subtle ways to filter, monitor, and otherwise obstruct or manipulate the openness of the internet.
Most of today’s censorship circumvention tools use the same fundamental approach: they encrypt the user’s traffic to make it look innocuous, and channel it to a proxy server located outside the censored network. This leads to a fundamental problem: Once the censor discovers the proxy server, the proxy itself becomes just another site to block. If users can find the proxy servers, the censors can too.
This is a new Internet let device connect each other with Email address rather than IP address. It clear many problem in Internet:

All transfer data is using signature and encrypted email rather than IP socket.
CoNET idea similar as the meek that is a pluggable transport for Tor. Meek is an obfuscation layer for Tor designed to evade Internet censorship. It uses a trick called domain fronting to talk to a Tor relay while appearing to talk to another domain. CoNET’s node doing communication while appearing to use email system.
Normal Internet email system is used with people to doing communication. It is slow and may not used for computer system that need real time communication.
CoNET project allow computer doing real time communication each other via internet email system.
The Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) is an Internet standard protocol used by email clients to retrieve email messages from a mail server over a TCP/IP connection. IMAP is defined by RFC 3501.
The APPEND command appends the literal argument as a new message to the end of the specified destination mailbox.
IMAP support store message as draft. That has not completed composition. Draft message have not store client IP address information in message’s raw data.

IMAP requires a client to poll the server for changes to the selected mailbox (new mail, deletions). IDLE is an IMAP protocol extension. It allows an IMAP client to indicate to the server that it is ready to accept real-time notifications about the changes (e.g. new message) in the currently selected folder. It also helps some real-time applications based on IMAP. It is defined by RFC 2177.
IMAP FETCH command retrieves data associated with a message in the mailbox. The data items to be fetched can be either a single atom or a parenthesized list. It is defined by RFC 3501.
Two IMAP clients may establish a real time communication via third party email server use standard IMAP protocol.
IMAP protocol were half duplex, meaning that they could not send and receive data at the same time. We establishes two independent simplex tunnels for traffic to traverse the network to and from each node.
Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) is an encryption program that provides cryptographic privacy and authentication for data communication. PGP is used for signing, encrypting, and decrypting texts, emails, files, directories, and whole disk partitions and to increase the security of e-mail communications. PGP and similar software follow the OpenPGP standard (RFC 4880) for encrypting and decrypting data.
The laws are largely targeted at spammers and are designed to prevent them from acquiring people’s email addresses without their permission and spamming them with unsolicited emails. CoNET user have warning and risk agreement when they send connect request email to CoNET that include IMAP account name and password.
CoNET platform is normal email client software like Outlook or others. It use standard IMAP protocol to connect and reading or writing draft message to email server that have not sent.All message is based on OpenPGP standard format. Email provider may not censor message detail. Also the IMAP protocol standard is allow email client may multi connect to a email account.
CoNET server side also as mail client that authorized form client to access their email account. It similar as Outlook or Gmail online mail service that can add mail account to connect other mail service.
Some email provide have IMAP use limit. The gmail have bandwidth limits that allow 2500MB download and 500MB upload per day. If user used gmail account that only may use 250MB data transfer per day with CoNET. Because CoNET technology need two way to uploading data. ( client — upload → Gmail — download → CoNET, CoNET — upload → Gmail — download → user. )
IDLE command is not available for every IMAP server like Yahoo mail server does not support it. CoNET can use NOOP command to poll the new message when mail server have not support IDLE. The IDLE response is not always immediate like Gmail it have more 4s delay.
CoNET is a virtual network within Internet that allow nodes keep anonymous use email address find each other (routing with email address rather than IP address). CoNET is hard to be blocked by online censorship. All node doing communication in CoNET using PGP encrypt End to End message. CoNET is open source publish at Github.
