Results
Google say that one search should consume 0.0003 kWh.
With our model we got pretty much the same has shown below:
We got 0.00015 kWh (0.15 Wh) for one single google search. There is a difference but keep in mind that the power consumption change depending on how test have been done (direct search from browser, or by google main page). This test is a direct search by browser search bar, so it is acceptable to find a little less than expected.
This article on cnrs fr states that sending an email could be as far as (60Wh during 25 minutes : 25Wh).
10 minutes on 480p youtube video gives 22Wh, which is an under estimation if we refer to the shift project (0.78 kWh for one hour : 130Wh for 10 minutes) but an over estimation if we refer to iea analyst George Kamiya (found 13Wh : "0.077 kWh of electricity per hour") ref here.
10 minutes on 1080p youtube video gives 84Wh (shift project found between 40Wh and 200Wh).
10 minutes on 480p dailymotion video gives 25Wh | 10 minutes on 1080p dailymotion video gives 119Wh |
