With the current changes, users can be notified that they have a lot of words for exercises, which can be overwhelming. Essentially, all the words they translate are scheduled, and if they don't exercise them immediately they can reach a really high number of possible words to exercise.

After discussing it, we are considering to do it based on a "maximum exercises per day" reminder of 20 to start. We want the number to be doable, but also high enough to ensure users learn words if they visit the app regularly. At the end of these 20, we can let them know they can continue, but not reveal the number of total bookmarks not to overwhelm them and the notification is removed.

To explain this to the user, we could introduce a little modal the first time they go to exercises explaining how they work, and the idea they will have up to a maximum of 20 exercises per day with the option to continue if there is words they could start learning. This will be enforced with the end of session screen which can say "You already finished your daily 20 exercises.".
