VRAM high usage

Hi everyone!

First of all, I simply love this extension! 😍

Recently, due to a bug related to AMD graphics cards and high VRAM (video ram) usage (even though in my case, having 4G VRAM set in BIOS), I discovered that Gnome Shell consumes a considerable amount of memory and discovered that:

1. With this extension enabled, the VRAM is around 1100 MB.
   

2. With this extension disabled, VRAM usage is even cut in half, or at least 400 MB lower.
   

Do we have any hints to improve this, please?
