Tried it on a laptop with an RTX2060, works just the same as layering the drivers on base silverblue. |

Laptop, RTX 3060 (intel + nvidia muxless prime setup), works great. I used the nvidia image to make my own image for my laptop: |

Tried it on a Dell XPS 15 9520 (alder lake i7) with 3050 ti ... works great, including secure boot. Planning to build a custom image to run on all the laptops used by my family. Thanks, ublue team, for all your work forging the way ahead! |

I've installed this on a NUC 12 Extreme with a RTX 3060 Ti. I'm using encrypted root with btrfs. Testing a new install and only one monitor at the moment. On boot I need to switch the monitor cable to the on board HDMI port in order to access the display to enter the boot decryption passphase. Then switch back to the 3060Ti HDMI port in order to access the desk. Otherwise seems fine. EDIT: Passphase worked on the default install when booting without switching the cable. |

Hey all, We've expanded support to multiple versions and driver release streams! As of today we have builds for the following versions: And each version comes with multiple Nvidia driver streams which can be set with the tag:
Testing pull requests is also easier now that there are multiple image builds with complementary tags structured as
There are plans to expand support to Fedora 38 now that it's been branched. An Nvidia 470xx steam may even be added as well since it could improve legacy support. If there are any requests you'd like to make, then feel free to file an issue! |

TL;DR Silverblue wiped the floor with Pop OS and Windows on my laptop. I could run certain types of games at 50-90fps on Windows, with occasional partial system failures until a restart due to overheating to 97C. Pop OS, the premier Nvidia gaming distro, had comparable performance, more CPU management options, and the potential for either more performance and more risky overheating to 98-99C, or more stable 50-70fps without overheating. I figured out auto-cpufreq, which allowed me to run the same games at 70-100fps and a technically safe 96C on Pop OS. I always talked about how good and important the Pop OS Nvidia driver support and management is, and one of the Silverblue devs, the madman, listened and fully implemented it within a couple months. Silverblue with auto-cpufreq ran two of the same games at 110+ fps and 89C, and at 145-165fps and 80C Specs: Machine: Games tested: OS: Software: |

Hello. It seems like I'm unable to rebase to base-nvidia properly or there may be an issue with it. After running the rebase command and rebooting, I don't get to a login screen on bootup. It just stops during boot. I'm able to change to another tty and log into a shell prompt, but I don't get a graphical login or any login prompt, initially. I was able to rebase to silverblue-nvidia though and I'm now on just plain base image and playing around with it. Could you let me know if there's an issue with base-nvidia or maybe how best to get Nvidia drivers up and running on base? Also, will there be an ubuntu-nvidia? Thanks for setting this project up and looking forward to playing around with more images. |

Thanks to jstone and akdev1l we now have a working nvidia image, check out the repo and follow the instructions.
Please note that this is experimental still, so hopefully you know how to pin a deployment.

Feel free to post what hardware you've tried it on so we can see what it works on, thanks! We're especially interested in laptops since those tend to be painful.
