One of the few features that I feel ScanTailor has been missing is better control over non-body content on pages. Things like page numbers and headers sometimes get picked up as part of the main block of text, and sometimes they don't. It would be big improvement if users could help ScanTailor find headers, footers, footnotes, or page numbers once, and let automation try to handle the rest.
I'd be happy to see some of this become opt-in, where users can first select if they want ScanTailor to look for decorative elements, then perhaps checkboxes indicating which elements, and dropdowns where they can hint at the location on the page (top/bottom left/center/right or automatic detection). This could also lead to some more advanced options in layout, where users could select where to put each of these elements, and ScanTailor could build pages accordingly.
Regardless, the program is phenomenal and I'm happy to see it still being supported and developed. Thanks for your hard work!
