I'm always frustrated when OpenChatKit cannot code, if it could, then it's really kind of an alternative of ChatGPT.

Describe the solution you'd like
You could train the model with CodeAlpaca(https://huggingface.co/datasets/sahil2801/CodeAlpaca-20k) to improve its coding skills.
