Checklist

  • I am able to reproduce the bug with the latest debug version (Android, Linux, Windows)
  • I've checked that there is no open or closed issue about this bug.
  • This issue contains only one bug.
  • The title of this issue accurately describes the bug.

Steps to reproduce

This is not very reproducable. It seems to occur randomly. I do not have a reliable ISP, which may contribute to the following problems. Mind you I am unable to download the debug release

Expected behavior

Volumes kept at normal levels, ability for the app to reconnect after a internet failure and continue playing to song, and ability to continue playing a song without randomly breaking and stopping.

Actual behavior

The volume was too high; the sound was distorted and muddled; a song will break, stop, and refuses to play if one tries.

The first video below, "Azur" by Krosia – it does not sound like that, not at all. I know it is playing the right audio as the beat is the same, but the sound is terribly distorted (you may try listening to the real version)

The second video was an example I luckily caught where the song randomly broke, stopped and both the current song and any other refuse to play (I was able to access the internet during this period)

Logs

(My phone, the A54 5G, is making it a pain to use logfox/any tool using adb) and I don't really have another device right now, so if you have any suggestions thank you so much in advance. Extremely sorry.

SpMp version

0.4.2

SpMp platform

Android

OS version

Android 14

Additional information

I have never had such issues before, and spmp was quite reliable for me, even with the internet breakages. Now it seems odd because my ISP reports they have fixed the issue, I am able to access the internet using Firefox, but spmp is still having this new issue.

The volume sounds like it's breaking my speakers

Imagine someone bass-boosted a song to hell

And not able to play any song. Cleared cache, turned off persistent song queue, but notbhelping at all.

I have also no idea that when the A54 attempts to sleep, the audio gets cut and this issue happens

Nope, unrestricted battery usage does not stop this issue, and the audio distortion and breaking my speakers is still happening. (So I'm not really sure that this issue should be specific to Samsung and their "optimizations")

(Lately tested with the nightly 2024-11-14 debug apk) Same issues, and not that I really have a way to use adb at this point.

Wait I have a clunky old Dell™. I'll try to use that for adb, but I can only do this after Dec 7th. Busy until then. Bye.
