When I was exploring with the user friendly settings I did notice the screen would go blank (white) for about one second time to time. During the 10 min session I noticed it happened twice while trying to set the timer.
The app takes about 6 seconds to open up the settings on the bottom of the screen once you open up a session for me.
I think would be awesome to share my progress as I go along as well.
My first experience with the memoir app was both a positive and user friendly experience.
The amount of options available for breathing exercises/ meditations on the menu screen was a prefect amount. It was not to overwhelming or time consuming to decide which option to choose. It was also very easy to switch between breathing exercises if I decided to check out another one.
The bell at the end of the session really gives me a sense of reward. Which is a good feeling to have after a meditation. It makes me feel as if I just accomplished something.
The bell during the meditation is a good idea to keep you focused, but my personal problem was that the bell during the session kept throwing me off during short meditation sessions. I would focus on the bell sound more than my actual breathing. Personally that was not working for me. I believe this is something I will improve with over time and more practice.
However I did like the bell in the longer 10 min or more sessions. Setting the bell halfway through the meditation gave me a good indication to stay focused for the second half of the meditation and really stay in my mental state.
The meditation music is great and it feels like the chords are moving perfectly aligned with the breathing exercises provided, but I appreciate that you have the option to turn the music off as well. Just as much as I think music can enhance a session, silence can be just as powerful during a meditation.
When looking at the images on the screen that go a long with the sessions you get a sense of peace and tranquillity with the photos. I usually close my eyes during a meditation, so I didn’t pay to much attention to the screen during the sessions, but I did really love the animations of the sacred geometry moving in pair with the breathing exercises. Those sacred geometric patterns would stay in my mind still animating with my breathing during the session and I really enjoyed that.
Overall I had a really great first time experience with it. The settings were extremely simple and easy to use. I love the way it tracks your progress for each session as well. This keeps me wanting to use it more and more to reach my meditation goals and track my progress.
Thanks for letting me try the beta I look forward to seeing it fully released soon!
