Shabad OS is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to learning about Shabad and sharing it with everyone.

We're reimagining the Sikh philosophy for the modern, digital world in an ethical, open-source way. The people at Shabad OS have innovated easy live captioning of shabad gurbani kirtan, an accurate gurbani database, and a customized unicode font for displaying gurbani accurately. The Shabad OS Database powers apps on the web, desktop, and mobile devices.

This open, collaborative approach is coupled with a sense of responsibility. Our top goal is to digitally represent the Sikh philosophy, gurbani, and other panthic banis to the best of our time and ability. That same rigor goes into the practice of products we create -- strengthening our commitment to learn about Shabad and sharing it with everyone. Our apps are designed to be intuitive to a wide audience.

Shabad OS is used by live streamers to caption gurbani in real time. Our apps are used at camps and retreats to spark the engagement of youths and adults alike. Our database platform can be used for doing research and pāṭh bhed (difference analysis) of gurbani.
