Dependency installation fails

I have a symfony app on which I want to run my tests and phpstan but when I try to install phpunit via the symfony bridge it always fails in the phpunit job, in the phpstan job tho it always succeeds. I thought that maybe the cache might be interfering so I'm using different keys but this does not appear to be the case. And the error message is also utterly uninformative. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Hi, can you run composer with --verbose flag in phpunit job and share the link to the failing workflow.

Unfortunately not, as the bin/phpunit executes the composer command itself and does not accept any extra arguments.
