v1.0.11_preview-2 Pre-release
Pre-release

Only very minor updates from v1.0.11_preview-1:

  • Fixed issue in exporting CNF files; since v1.0.8 invalid CNF files were being produced, due to a regression.
  • Fixed issue in the Spectrum File Query Tool of showing a result in Windows Explorer

v1.0.11_preview-1 Pre-release
Pre-release

This is an early preview release of a new feature expected in version 1.0.11 for performing Relative Efficiency analysis.

There are two new tools, "Isotopics from peaks" and "Isotopics by nuclides". The former is fairly complete and appears to be working well for a number of tested use-cases, while the latter is still under active development and may not make it into the 1.0.11 release.
Documentation is not yet available for either tool.

For background on Relative Efficiency analysis, please see:

This release fixes a number of smaller issues, improves some interfaces, makes using pre-defined detector response functions (DRFs) easier, adds a number of default DRFs for common portable detection systems, reduced app memory usage, and upgraded some underlying libraries.

v1.0.10_rc3 Pre-release
Pre-release

This release is a beta release for testing purposes only.

This release updates a number of dependencies and fixes a number of smaller user-reported bugs since v1.0.9.

Because a few of the updated dependencies required substantial structural changes to the InterSpec code, this is a beta release for testing, or if you hit any of the bugs in v1.0.9.

Changes since v1.0.10_rc2:

  • Fixed issue with "Clear Session..." option on Windows/Linux not always working correctly
  • Fixed issue with the various tables some times not loading data correctly when scrolled
  • Fixed issue where sometimes notifications or pop-up visualizations wouldn't be visible
  • Fix potential issue when fitting for isotopics in Shielding/Source Fit tool
  • A few other small bugs/issues have been corrected
  • Add support for a couple of additional file formats
  • Finish support of using "deep-linking" to transfer detector response function into app
  • Add QR-code popups in detector response selection tool, and nuclide decay tool to help transfer between devices
  • For Windows and Linux builds, changed behavior of opening new spectrum files via the operating system (e.g., double-clicking on spectrum files). If an InterSpec window is currently open, the file will be opened in that window, where before it would create a new InterSpec instance.
  • If you open multiple InterSpec windows (either by double clicking on the InterSpec executable multiple times, or using the View -> "New app window" menu item), they will now belong to the same process to reduces memory usage.

Known issues:

  • The google maps feature may not work

No additional features or functionality is expected for the final v1.0.10 release - only fixes if any issues are identified.

Linux and macOS versions forthcoming.

v1.0.10_rc2 Pre-release

Libraries updated:

  • Wt was updated from 3.3.4 to 3.7.1
  • boost was updated from 1.68.1 to 1.78
  • Electron from 11.5.0 to 17.3.1
  • jQuery from 1.7.2 to 3.6.0
  • qTip2 from 2.2.0 to 3.0.3

Bugs fixed from v1.0.9:

  • Fixed combine spectra together, or summing them, to form new spectrum files
  • Fix some issue assigning nuclides of single and double escape peaks
  • Fix some issues editing values in the Peak Manager table
  • Fix issue assigning "meta-2" nuclides as peak sources
  • Potentially improve handling timezones on the time-chart (although more work may be needed)
  • Add CSV download to Reference Photopeak tab

Known issues:

  • The google maps feature may not work
  • The Linux build was compiled on Ubuntu 18.04, so will likely not work on distributions having an older versions of libc

v1.0.10_rc2 fixes issues with the "Clear Session..." menu item, and with the Spectrum Query Tool of v1.0.10_rc1.

InterSpec version 1.0.9 adds a number of user requested features and user reported fixes.
In particular, support for volumetric trace sources and cylindrical and rectangular geometries; these are particularly useful for determining contamination levels, or activities of bulk materials.

Fix support for nested non-spherical geometries with trace or self-attenuating sources.
Fix some regressions in spherical self-attenuating sources.
A few more small fixes/improvements.

v1.0.9-rc1 Pre-release
Pre-release

Add support for:
Trace sources; both uniform and exponential surface distributions
Side-on cylinder, end-on cylinder, and rectangular geometries

Non-spherical geometries are currently subject to the limitation that trace and intrinsic sources can only be in the inner-most shielding; this limitation will be removed v1.0.9-rc2.

See 20211117_IAEA_HPGe_InterSpec_SAND2021-14557TR.pdf for an overview of using the new geometries and trace source capabilities.
