Autonomy Part 2: Refining the destination

Phase 1: Tennis ball detection

  • Benchmark OpenCV script running on RSX laptop and Raspberry Pi
  • Optimize if necessary or buy a new one
  • Integrate with whatever is done for autonomy so far

Phase 2: Going to the tennis ball

  • Implement search algorithm to find the tennis ball if it's not near the provided GPS coordinate

We should also benchmark other neural nets (SSD?)

One aspect of Phase 2 might be to use camera pose estimation to keep track of the tennis ball's location relative to the rover. This is a project for a course I'm taking, so I should be able to help look into this.
