Yeah yeah, I know.. this is a Vagrant issue.. However, I usually fix this by switching to NFS.. I tried, but I always get permission errors on Magento installation.
I've tried chmod 777 recursively on my system and on the VM, and switching the apache user to vagrant too, as that's the owner of the folders/files, no change.
