Handler failed to bind to ip msfconsole #19783

whenever i use the comand to start the reverse tcp handler

use exploit/multi/handler
set payload windows/meterpreter/reverse_tcp
set LHOST ip
set LPORT p
exploit

it says handler failed to bind to (ip)
and i get dont see any connection from the other party
