Can we stop shipping two separate builds for ESM and CommonJS?

This issue has been open for two months. Now, obviously quadstore is a niche database and I'd be surprised if more than a dozen people out of the 700 - 1000 downloads per week ever had a look at the issues here. Still, there's a couple of positive reactions on the opening comment. I'll wait a little bit more and then move forward if nobody objects.
