And that is a disadvantage, comparing to other solutions, like mentioned here WP-PostViews etc.

Will you try to find a workaround to this?

(latest Chrome with Adblock Plus 1.12.1)

We have to respect a user's wish to not be tracked. Google Analytics, Jetpack Stats, Yandex Metrics, and many many many other tracking and analytics solutions out there do not work with Adblock, uBlock, NotScripts and other good adblockers and script control plugins.

GA works with AdBlock (with default options). Pretty sure the same for JS, YM etc.

A special privacy filter should be installed, which is an extra step (not default behaviour).
Check this page, EasyList vs EasyPrivacy.

IMO: pageviews are not ads, that should be blocked by ads blocking extension. Your answer may be valid only if you track users as well (and not only count). In that case other questions to the plugin will appear.

Hi @slaFFik! I have tested this with both AdBlock and AdBlock Plus with default settings (tracking not blocked) and the pageviews.js file loads fine, as well as the AJAX requests to get and increment counters.

If you're still experiencing trouble, could you please check your JavaScript console to make sure the requests are in fact being blocked by the AdBlock extension and not something else? Thanks!

Yeh, neither the EasyList nor the EasyPrivacy contain any matches for pageviews.js. I am using uBlock and it does block pageviews.js and personally I'm fine with that.

EasyList/Privacy now contains pv.pjtsu.com easylist/easylist#6004
