Encoder input, new Teensy BOB

Hi Phil,
for attaching a spindle speed encoder to do threading on my lathe I have to get the Teensy BOB, the Pico BOB doesn't support it, right?

I've read you are working on an update to the Teensy BOB with improved power handling and probably encoder ready layout (e.g. no more need to cut tracks on the board). When do you think the updated board will be available? I'm not in a hurry with my CNC conversion so can wait for the new board if it is already on the horizon.
