And, before I start complaining ;) I would like to express my gratitude for being able to download vanilla Android versions free of commercial interests in the true spirit of Free Software.
After installation on my Umidigi A9 Pro many things work fine but there are some inconvenient problems:
The usual wifi MAC options are not there, so I can neither set the MAC address in general or for a specific network nor avoid MAC randomisation in any other way. The MAC address can be set using Termux, though, by typing ‘ifconfig wlan0 hw ether ’
The headphones cable connection does not work even if forced through an app.
The screen resoiution is excellent but it is only recognised as very basic, resulting in huge icons that fill up the screen quickly.
Even though I have set the brightness to automatically controlled and was told the device would learn the settings I like, this does not happen. The device seems to misinterpret the light intensity in its surroundings.
The infrared thermometer sensor is not recognised.
The additional hardware button on the left side of the phone is not recognised.
The field ‘hardware version’ is empty, so I have to look at the back of phone to verify it is an A9 Pro.
