suddenly one day it stopped seeing the markers and this error appeared in the firebug firefox

Hi, I'm aware of this issue - I think it's due to an update to the google maps code. Haven't been able to find a fix for it yet

Removing this line fixes the markers: https://github.com/pdewouters/WP-Map-Markers/blob/master/js/panel.js#L35

@chrisvoll Feel free to make a pull request. Would be nice to find a solution where the icon shadow is still displayed
