Why was my zshrc not backed automatically?

Well i was thinking about installing z for quite some time now so i thought lets give it a try. But only now i noticed u wiped my zshrc file completely for this stupid init commad.

if [[ -r "/Users/marcus/.config/zi/init.zsh" ]]; then
  source "/Users/marcus/.config/zi/init.zsh" && zzinit
fi

And i thought oh wow, all my ohmyzsh confs and stuff are gone, but ay no worries i just yank them from the backup file they SURELY created...

Wait...
hold up...
W..

Why wouldn't you automatically create a stupid backup automatically?
Ofc i could have done that before, sure a skill issue. But why?
