Okay so lets start step by step:

1. First visit gssoc Projects and choose any projects according to your skills.
2. Go to the github page of that project and try to use that project and know about that.
3. TO contrubute into project you can directly go to issue section and solve the already existing problems or you can post new problems and improvment according to you and discuss the solution with the team in comments.
4. After approval send a pull request after making improvment into code.
5. After reviewing your pull request they will accept your request and you have contributed successfully.
