The Proposal:
The Union Cabinet in its meeting held on 29th November, 2022 has approved the creation of a separate" Department for Welfare of Persons with Disabilities" by separating the functions of Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance as Department for Welfare of Persons with Disabilities-I and Department for Welfare of Persons with Disabilities-II and creation of a total of 2063 posts of officers/ staff at Ministerial level, Commissioner, Welfare of Persons with Disabilities, Regional level, District level and Taluka level. Accordingly, a Government notification dated 15.12.2022 of the General Administration Department has created a" Department of Disability Welfare." The creation of posts for" Department of Disabled Welfare" was under consideration of the Government pursuant to the approval given for creation of posts in the 6 th meeting of the Sub-High Level Committee of Secretaries held on Thursday, 29 th December, 2022.
The government's decision:
As per the decision of the Cabinet in its meeting dated 29 th November, 2022 and as approved by the High Level Committee of Secretaries, a total of 32 posts for the newly created Ministerial level" Department of Welfare of Persons with Disabilities" as indicated in the following statement and 10 posts for services to be taken from external agencies are being approved.

(2) The Finance Department while carrying out works through external agencies. The provisions of the Government Resolution dated 27 th April, 2022 should be complied with.

The decision will come into effect from December 30, 2022.
5) The decision of the government. With the approval of the Cabinet and concurrence of the Department of Finance, the Informal Reference No. 09/ Expenditure-14 dated 03.01.2023 and the Informal
Reference No. 01/ APC, dated 02.01.2023 is being issued pursuant to the said approval.
