We need to consider how to harness generative AI to help meet our organizational goals. One idea that I had while chatting with a software engineer neighbour and walking the dog OMF lead development of a generative AI to support scientific computational modelling. We would also have to design a parallel institutional structure that incentives provision of model code, for example a membership model that requires users to post created code at some point. I think this approach might have the possibility to help resolve what we have not yet been able to make happen, actual re-use of code o posted models. It could also speed up creation of new models and reduce barriers to entry. To make this work we would need to expand our membership and mission to include standards for generative AI and bring in members who could lead that work |

My neighbour also made the point that whatever standard we have, the model documentation and metadata should include whatever current generative AI programs use to attribute credit (seems only one of 3 now does this_ |

Seems to me that this calls for a working group |
