Vision: new generation of models?

Do we really need new models? I doubt that this is the primary goal of OMF. We identify the need to get the existing models to work together better! And, while doing this make them adhere to standards, good practice, documentation, ...

So the phrase *We need a new generation of scientific computational models * should be rephrased towards interopoerability

I think the terminology "model" is used here for the integrated model which may combine existing (or new) components. The working together that you are referring to seems to focus more on model components.

Yes, exactly. Still we could make clearer that we don't primarly want new model components, but new model systems that rely on comonents that we help to make interoperable.

I agree, we do not need primarely new models. So less emphasize on NEW would be good and more emphasize on accessibility and integration of models.
