Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
On low zoom levels, layers with a lot of polygon data are getting slow and it is difficult to see all the polygons (e.g. when they overlap or when they are small). So showing the polygon area does not add much value.
Describe the solution you'd like
Instead of the polygon area, show just a point per area. They points can be clustered, so that I can see that in a certain area, an number of points exist. Hovering over the points could show me some details of the underlying areas.
When zooming in, there should be a certain zoom level where the points then transform to the polygon areas (as-is).
Would be good if the feature could be configured on layer level.
